Miami Supreme gardenia is a large, densely- foliaged shrub that produces large fragrant double-flowers. The glossy green leaves of this native of China, Taiwan and Japan are attractive and a beautiful companion to the blossoms. From late spring to summer it produces many large, waxy, ivory flowers with an intoxicating fragrance. Occasionally a sporadic flowering may occur in late summer or fall.
Acidic, evenly moist soils with excellent drainage and fertility are crucial for plant health and successful blooming. Miami Supreme gardenia grows best in full to partial sun and should be provided with good air circulation to help plants ward off leaf diseases. Whether used as a specimen plant, in containers, mixed shrub borders, or pruned as a small tree, this is a magnificent landscape ornamental.
