Regal Red Japanese Painted Fern
Athyrium niponicum 'regal red'
The striking violet-red fronds are contrasted by bright silver edges, giving an overall tapestry effect. The fronds work well in cut flower arrangements, providing lasting color and soft texture. Great for use in containers and as a houseplant. Herbaceous perennial. Plant it in dappled to full shade for the best color as too much sun has a tendency to bleach them out. Multiple landscape use includes woodland gardens, shade gardens, rock gardens, or along streams or ponds. Japanese painted fern is a Perennial so it will come back year after year.
