Upright, feathery white plumes fade to reddish-brown. blooms late September until first frost and curve in a unique fashion. The silvery green leaves turn straw colored with the cold weather. Among the showiest and most beautiful of ornamental grasses, a clump of maiden grass grows to 4-6 feet by late summer. A spectacular silvery grass, It is a decorative addition to borders all summer into fall. At night the silvery blooms almost seem to glow in the moonlight. Perfect for flanking the entry to a drive, around ponds or streams, mass plantings, or as a specimen plant.
